Position: Registered Nurse ( RN ) - Observation Unit

Job Overview

Clinical Nurse - Observation Unit, Full‑Time 12 Hour Day Shift, 36 hours weekly.

Location:

Silver Spring, Maryland. Must be authorized to work in the United States without work visa or sponsorship.
Responsibilities
• Provide direct nursing care to oncology, med/surg, and hospice patients.
• Administer medications, including chemotherapy (if certified), and monitor for side effects.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
• Offer emotional support and education to patients and families.
• Participate in discharge planning, pain management, and palliative care coordination.
• Document patient progress and communicate effectively with care team.
Minimum Qualifications
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; a basic professional nursing degree (BSN) preferred. If the BSN degree is not present on hire, the employee must sign an agreement to obtain a BSN within a specified time frame.
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification; additional life support training as applicable to unit requirements.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• Superb interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.

• BSN or MSN preferred.

Pay

Pay range $38.92-$55.68 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. Pay may also vary within the stated range based on location.
