Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Research Infusion Nurse with strong oncology experience to support both standard care and clinical trial activities. This role requires expertise in chemotherapy/biotherapy administration, IV/venous access, and patient education while ensuring patient safety and protocol compliance.

Qualifications:

Current Virginia RN license or Compact
BLS required , ACLS preferred
OCN certification preferred
Proficient in chemotherapy administration and central line management
Key Responsibilities:

Oncology Care Duties:
Provide age-appropriate care and therapy assessment
Assist with exams, procedures, and patient flow
Manage central lines, ports, and venipuncture
Document care and communicate with providers
Educate patients and coordinate community resources
Adhere to OSHA safety protocols
Serve as a mentor and resource for clinical staff
Clinical Trial Duties:
Verify informed consent and perform study-specific tasks
Educate patients on study requirements and adherence
Administer investigational drugs per protocol
Collect and document labs, ECGs, and vital signs
Collaborate with investigators and ensure accurate reporting
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for long periods
Manual dexterity and normal range of vision/hearing required
